Your Body Can Heal Itself! May 24th, 2007

Dr Lim

And why I still do what I do . . .

Dear friend:

Did you know that becoming licensed as a chiropractor requires a minimum of six years of highly specialized college training?

Today’s Doctor of Chiropractic must complete 4,815 hours of classroom instruction and pass a rigid chiropractic board examination before earning a license. In most states, continuing educational seminars must be completed for annual license renewal.

I’ve been in our community since 1985. I’m originally from Seoul, Korea. I received my undergraduate training in Edison, New Jersey, then moved to Whittier, California, where I completed my chiropractic doctorate program, summa cum laude, at Southern California University of Health Sciences. I completed post graduate courses in spinal biomechanics, sports injuries and the management of personal injuries such as whiplash and auto-injuries. I have specialized training in Motion Palpation and Manipulation, Kinesiology, Gentle Adjustment (Activator, Impulse Adjusting Instrument), Acupressure, Non-force Adjusting and the Adjusting of Infants and Children, and Total Body Nutritional Cleansing and Support. I am a specialist in non-surgical corrections of disc and lower back problems with spinal decompression therapy.

Years ago something happened to me that changed my life forever. Back then I was a high school student and an avid martial artist in Korea. I developed a painful neck condition while I was practicing flying-side-kicks. It came on suddenly. The pain in my neck was so intense that I couldn’t move my neck, study or read and sometimes I couldn’t even sleep. My hands were getting numb. I was afraid that I’d flunk my classes if the disability continued. I went to a doctor who told me he didn’t know what the problem was and just gave me some pain pills, which didn’t solve the problem at all. After considering surgery I decided against it. While I was in college, I was introduced to a doctor who was confident he could help me. This new doctor does an exam, takes some films, and then gently ‘adjusts’ my spine. The adjustment doesn’t hurt, it actually feels good. I get relief, and I can move my neck freely again. I still remember his name ... Dr. A. J. Willet. Oh, did I mention that this doctor is a chiropractor? It works so well for me, and I’m so impressed with the other ‘miracles’ I see in his office, that I eventually go to chiropractic school myself.

Now for my boy, Matthew, on the left. One day I received a phone call from his school. He had gotten injured during his gymnastics class. He was lying flat on his back on the gym floor, when I got there. He could hardly move because of so much pain in his back. He explained to me that while he was doing his back handsprings, he felt a stabbing pain in his mid-back and couldn’t get up. Upon careful examination, I found subluxations in his mid-spine and ribs, and started adjusting him. He was back to his gymnastics practice the next day. Michael, wearing clown make-up, used to get plagued with asthma quite often. After I started to adjust him, the asthma started to improve immediately, and now, he doesn’t have asthma at all. He is now majoring in Pre-Chiropractic and excited about going to chiropractic school.

Several times a day patients thank me for helping them with their health problems. I’m making this offer to allow more people to find out if this care is what they need.

By law, this offer excludes Medicare beneficiaries. If you have hesitated visiting a chiropractor, perhaps you didn’t know that chiropractors go to such great lengths to continue their education and provide you with the latest techniques and the most qualified service. Call me today and let me help you, 760.480.0077.

Thank you.

– Hoon Lim, D.C.
