State spending is out of control and reining it in will be difficult. That is because liberal Democrats are first and foremost big spenders. The current healthcare reform proposal is an example of spending without limits. It holds a $14 billion price tag and the potential to doom California’s fiscal future. The bankrupt proposal must be stopped.
To bring spending under control, we must stay away from tax increases. Tax increases will simply raise the price of living in California. While we will be paying more, little benefit will be seen. That is because of the difficulty of holding legislators accountable for spending endless state dollars fixing nothing.
We should run our state like we do our household, and spend within our means.
