Big Ernie’s Rib Shack Holds Grand Opening

photoEscondido Mayor Pro-tem Sam Abed and Councilman Ed Gallo were on hand to congratulate Ernest “Big Ernie” Kinsey last Saturday during his Grand Opening festitivies for Big Ernie’s Ribshack at 1815 East Valley Parkway, Escondido.

Balloons were flying, music was playing, and Karaoke singers were having a ball. Plenty of new diners were grinning from ear to ear as they discovered the newest eatery in town. The tantalizing aroma of smoked meats attracted patrons from near and far.

On hand to greet customers, both old and new, were Big Ernie’s Chief Good Will Ambassadors, Nevaeh, and Brishayna, above. “Big Ernie” reported the Grand Opening was a great success.

Architectural Relics Celebrates 3rd Anniversary

Since 2005, award winning Architectural Relics, 158 E Grand Ave, Escondido has been providing a destination and unique shopping experience to its customers at its location in quaint downtown Escondido. "Its been a great three years. Since we opened, we've enjoyed bringing in the most unique, one-of-a-kind architectural antiques and vintage-inspired gifts for our customers," said Lisa Gulliver, founder and co-owner. "And based on the positive outpouring from the community and wonderful comments from our loyal customers, we seem to have just the right home décor and gifts that people are looking for."

To mark the event, Architectural Relics is having a huge sale continuing through this Saturday, August 23, 2008.

Earlier this year the store won Downtown Escondido Business Association's 2008 People's Choice Award which is voted on by fellow retailers and awarded to outstanding businesses for making a significant impact on downtown Escondido during the year.

Gems n’ Loans to Move Escondido Location

Mack Hembree, owner of Gems ‘n Loans, an upscale grouping of pawn shops in North County is a particularly busy man these days. In addition to overseeing his Oceanside and Vista locations he is also keeping tabs on the upcoming move for his Escondido store. Long located at the shopping center at the corner of Mission & Escondido Boulevard, Gems ‘N Loans will be moving within the next week or two to its new location at 340 2nd Avenue in downtown Escondido, between Maple and Escondido Boulevard.

There will be more parking and access should be greater, serving both residents who live in Old Escondido, as well as the hoped for heavy pedestrian traffic in the area. Renovations are nearing completions and a Grand Opening is planned for a week or two after the move is made. For information call 760.712.3569.
